The Beast Within
*

This song is not in a battle

4Th one. Drums/vocals/guitar/keyboard, the whole shebang is me myself and I. (hehehe)

I dedicate this one "To all the girls I've loved before"
(Thanks Julio for such an incredible line)

Lyrics:

The Beast Within

There is a warm breeze in the air
And there is moonshine in your hair
But I hear a silent roar in the distance
And there is moonshine on my blade

There is a light sparkle in your eyes
And the beast will be on its way (On its way)
I have to leave you now, nothing to say
I have to face and kill my own lies (My own lies)

Will you be there when I return?
Do you wish it should be me?
Or should it be the beast
Maybe the beast within

And I raise my hand and blade
As it rolls its head sideways
And it roars and roars again
As I rush to kill a friend

There’s a beast within
Oh oh, there’s a beast within, etc…
(There is a dark silence in your eyes)

well I like the overall sound, the "dramatigue"....

I like the way all instruments link into eachother and set the mood...

ofcourse there's some work in the guitar tone, the drum construction, but it works well, together.

really it does. I think your first priority is to work on your vocals, though when you finally kick in the extra effects, let's say the "Beast Within" 3:03 and on, now THAT'S punching through... The single-vox parts are less catchy.. you can hear you're not a trained vocalist, if you would double those vox it would instantly sound much better!

but that's just a constructive criticism. I really like the overall feel. Also, some extra balance in your lyricism could be welcome too, though it's okay as it is right now.

cheers,

be well....

Instrumentally, I really like it.

I think the vocals don't do the song justice though, mainly in the main vocal delivery - actually the harmonies and "ooohs" are all good.

A very good song, construction wise.  It's well played too.
I love the mood it sets -
Nice stuff, which could be improved no end with better lead vocals.
