This is my first (individual)  song in which I tried to play the instruments live. I came up with a simply groove and then made up words in a span of about 45 minutes. I only did one take per instrument, so there are several mistakes, but I think It came out alright for the experiment that it was.

The guitar is actually my keyboard with a distortion pedal and a bass amp, the drums are synthesized, and the bass is a heavily filtered midi instrument.

Heavily inspired by the band Bush

Lyrics:
Here I sit, on the top of the world
You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours too
I’m the biggest kid in the playground
You speak some up, I’ll push you down
It’s my world, there’s no future
Besides what I want
You get the picture?

Your petrodollar cycles around
It floats me up
It puts you down
But I don’t care
I never will
Until the end
Forever still

You Fuel me
I take the cash
Win win for me
Lose lose for you
You disagree
I kick you down
After all,
Your’e just a clown

As I get rich,
You stay poor
Its good for me
Cause I want more
Pull the veil
Oer your eyes
And take a hint
From my surprise
Youll never know
And its alright
Cause I’m the king
And you’re the clown
American
I am found

I can definately hear the bush influence here, and the guitar sounds pretty neat considering it was your keyboard running through a distortion pedal.

I really like the mmmhmmmmmm's lol.

You might get someone to play the part on a real guitar for you at some point to record.

the guitar sounds nice, for what it actually is.

yes, the mmmmhmmmms were a nice touch.

sounds like a nice song, but it needs a bit of work. sounds like you're just getting started with the recording stuff. keep on truckin.

Yes this has turned out pretty well for the way it was pieced together.

Work needed to make it sound "natural", as there's not much musical flow to it at the moment.  Interesting about the guitar - the only time it really lets you down is the ending, when it sounds like a keyboard played through a distortion pedal!!!

Good first try at the solo stuff.
