Kitsch Rock
*

This song is not in a battle

done in one take(ish), the fall out boy bit was added as an afterthought...no offence to any fans of fallout boy...i hate them though. got the idea for the lyrics from my bud kaf, who had a big long rant after she came back from a guitar lesson. the 'flower sniffin, kitty pettin, baby kissin corporate rock whore' is a line from kurt cobains biography, something he said in an interview i think, i aint to sure...it might even be from a song, but its also her headline on myspaz. oops i mean, myspace.

lyrics:

you can't do anything
that hasn't been done before
you could kill yourself
but it wouldn't be original
so get your tattoo, some drums and some guitars
and powerchord your way through it all

lucky you, they're paying at the store
flower sniffin, kitty pettin, baby kissin
corporate rock whore
and even that line isn't mine
cause i'm a copy-cat, this n that,
bubble blowing little kitsch whore.

this is all thats left, recycled souls on display
in little plastic cases with pretty airbrushed faces
its cool to get wasted and fool around
to get high and feel proud
cause its all fun, bad dirty fun

who will be there when you hit the floor?
flower sniffin, kitty pettin, baby kissin
corporate rock whore
so i stole some wise words
cause i'm a copy-cat this n that,
bubble blowing little kitsch whore.

you wont ever sing a note that hasn't been sung,
you wont ever write a word that isn't already written.
you wont touch the sky,
you wont get the girl,
you wont beat the man,
you wont change the world.
fall out boy, fuck off boy (rpt til end)

impressive lyrics alright - well put together - interesting observations

best thing: the end. I like the "fall out boy - fuck off boy" and the way it sounds (with the filter on the vox).

the lead vocal's good but could use more power, more intensity, and the instrumentation is an obvious quick job, though I like how the overall sound sits "deep" in the head (IMO.. don't know if that makes sense ? )

anyway, nice 1

The lyrics are fabulous!!!!
And I love the way you deliver them

Your voice, as ever, is superb - although there are a few hissy bits in this that take away slightly from the listening pleasure!

Musically it's good - but I get a feeling that this was really a one take rush recording job.  You're ability with FL shines through, but it's not quite so good in the mix as some of your other tracks.

But that voice..........

Nice work PD - keep it up kiddo

This is f'n brilliant,I think if you had a power chord riff at the end it would be hillarious.Maybe even a ripped off riff. Well another great track from you.
