Welcome

This song is not in a battle

Track 2 of "Anaconda." This is in 2001, so the vocals aren't as polished.

lyrics
Welcome to the sunset zone

Here you do your own thing...
And everybody's got their own thing...

Went down to the islands; met a lady there and she tells me...

"Some malachite to sell you, turquoise for you...
sodalite to sell you...

(drum solo)

So, I went down to the islands, I met a man down there...
He was selling little wood figures,
But what caught my eye...

Was a long, wooden bird, I say uh, you call this a stork here?
He say, no you call ibis. I say, OK ibis, then.

And then I bought a little pipe, with a turtle on it
And the turtle was made out of a walnut.
with googly eyes, you know like Cookie Monster?

Googly eyes...

I say, how much do you want for the pipe?
He say, ten dollars for the pipe...and for ten dollars more,
I will give you something to put in the pipe...

So now I have my own thing to smoke, and now I know
why they are so happy in the islands

(yet another drum solo, but I like this a great deal)
(here's a brief mult at 3:20) start lyrics from the top...

(vocals following drums thing...)

For those of you are Sinatra fans, who I almost forgot,
But not quite...

Dobedobe your own thing...

Here you do your own thing
Everybody's go their own thing
Drink your own thing
PLay your own thing
Smoke your own thing

Don't be smokin' up all your own thing...

Close your eyes...(we're done this as a live fade)
Sunset zone...
Welcome to the sunset zone...
Close your eyes...

This was a popular original we used to play, and since people liked dancing to it, we dragged it out as long as we could. That's why it's seven minutes.

very well composing, with original ideas, just a little bit too midi, dry ,
i like some ambience with my reggea..

but...girl, you can sing, and boy, do i like your voice

funny lyrics, the stuff in the pipe must have gone soon i guess

Islands are cool...

I think you caught the atmosphere alright, and even though the midi-ness is obvious, it's mixed well enough to please atleast in my opinion. And it pleases, even though it's quite long, probably because of your voice, and I guess the spoken word thing is a good break in the listening experience.

The drum solos are programmed well...

greetings from Doobieland....

Real drummer
Using V-drums. The little backround melody is a loop that's part of the v-drums. This was a real story, too.

I have to say, I really enjoy this one....

At first I was a bit taken aback by the sound of the reggae beat through the V-drum..

but I dropped it in the mp3 player and took it with me to work, and haven really given it a listen, I must tell you I like it.. alot....

it is very fun.... and you did a great job overall... wonderful...
