Still Inside
*

This song is not in a battle

Recorded at band practice with Once a Traitor. Old and low quality of course, but a fun, simple song. Here are the lyrics:

Still Inside

Verse
With a slip of the tongue I’m flat on my back once again, right where you
    found me
I think there are times when I need the disgrace to sink in, and put life in
    perspective

Bridge
With my head in my hands I pray that you’ll save me
From the freedom to fail but life’s not that easy
So I look to the day my faith will be stronger
But until that day comes, I rest in my savior again
                I rest in Him

Chorus:
And I want to run without tiring
    To tire without sleeping
    To sleep without dreaming
    To dream without waking
    To wake without rising
    To rise without falling
    To fall without losing
    To lose without walking
    To walk without running
    To run without tiring

Verse
With a slip of the tongue, I’m flat on my back once again, right where you found me

Interesting
Probably deserves a better recording.

The Chorus lines have a lot of power in them. Probably too many lines though because they loose the effect after a few. I realize that you need them all to come back to the first one.

This kind of song is pretty intimate the way it was recorded. Like you point out, the recording quality isn't too great.

There is something strange about the thythm overall. Can't figure it out. Maybe I have to listen more times to understand. Not sure if it is written in 4/4, 6/4, or something else.

But, there is a good base to work with. I'm sure that, when you sing or play it, you feel it very well.

pretty cool, you should redo the recording, maybe add some keys, and harmonies.
Song has alot of potential.

I agree : song has a lot of potential.
Deserves more voices, maybe different guitar.
Chorus is too long.
Maybe try making 2 or 3 chorusses out of it, with each different lines.

re: Still Inside as i hear it
vocals so low in the mix i have no idea what the song is about
i lost the first verse
the words are the heart of this song i think

this sounds ...........no the vocal are lost
what a shame
purely a mike positioning thing
im sure this song is great
but recording lets it down
the lyrics are well crafted and singer has good voice but the vocs are at the same pitch as the guitar..... so in this recording the voice is a bit lost

splash

guitar with capo playing higher pitched chords / multitrak recording or more carefull mik placement for live recording will help

the fish
