Everything You Never Said You'd Be
*
This is the placeholder for a new MP3 player

This song is not in a battle

This song I wrote in the early 80's and finally demoed last autumn . . . it's country flavored, with some pretty cool twin fills, I think?

Hear's the words:

You told me you'd always be true,
You even said you'd like a kid, or two . . .
you said, a one man woman is what you'd always be,
then you said that one man was me.

You told me we'd never, fall apart,
then you swore you'd never break my heart.
You said that I was taken,  was yours eternally,
that it would be forever, you and me.

But you . . . Cheated, then you lied, and then you hurt me.
You did all the things you said you'd never do.
Honey, I hope you're happy, livin' without me-e-e,
You're everything you never said you'd be
(C'mon heartache)

You told me you'd never walk away,
and I believed in every word you'd say . . .
you said  I need not  worry . . . on love I could depend,
and that a love like ours could never end.

You told me your wedding vows were true,
and I stood by each word I swore to you,
You said we'd be together, until  death we'd never part
and I believed in "we" right from the start.

But  you . . . Cheated,  then you lied, and then you hurt me.
Did all the things you said you'd never do.
Honey, I hope you're happy, livin' without me-e-e
You're everything you never said you'd be.

Yea, You're everything you never said you'd be.

Words like these are pretty much exactly what I need to read (occasionally) to inspire me to keep on keeping on. I was creative toast, but can feel myself gaining ground as this community of artists shares themselves. It's a good thing, BandAmp . . . and thanx, JK!
Knowing that someone "get's it" makes the "Big League" rejection almost meaningless.
I appreciate it, really.
