I Was Counting On U
*

This song is not in a battle

I know this needs re-cutting, due to the buried lyrics and flubbed drum-machine ending (among other things)
Written maybe 20 years ago and demoed just last autumn, I've always believed this tune to be "interesting" . . . what d'ya think?

Hear the words:

There's just something bout' the way we made love, you know how I feel.
There's just something bout' them lies in your eyes. somehow they looked so,
so real (surreal)
You say, "Who'd wanna give their love to a married man"
When I said "Please do" you said "Please don't"
Well, I'll try, but I don't know that I can.

Cuz' I was countin' on you, to take me away.
I was countin' on you to help me escape.
I was countin' on you to toss me a line.
I was countin' on you and me, baby
I was countin' on you.

There's just something bout' them long, lonely nights, them long, lonely days,
I spent sittin' by the phone again n' dreamin' my love life away.
Feel like a train goin' nowhere, somewhere on a railroad track.
Babe, I'll always be waitin' . . . waitin' for you and wishin' that you
would come back . . . I was countin'  . . . ie:

nice riff i like the acoustic in the background i think it gives it a nice feeling. i would change the pass affact give at more tone cause the notes sound too cheesey.

Keep rockin!

re: I Was Counting On U
a real nice song
great lyrics  'cos i read them while the song woz playing'
but the lyrics dissapear during the first verse
the rest is beautiful
the words are clearer after the first verse

so the critique is only about the recording and the clarity of the lyrics

i love the song

I was Counting on U
Touching country-rock song... very nice lyrics, and good country vocals... hard to hear words in parts, but overall very good... background bass a bit loud in contrast to vocals.  Percussion is very fitting... do not change that part!  May need something else to make it work perfectly... a bit of a lead guitar line instead of just rhythm and bass? Guess I am not used to mostly acoustic pieces... sorry...have listened to it several times...sounds very nice...maybe just needs a little bit of tweaking... this is the second song I have listened to by the same artist... he writes from the heart and the words sound so very genuine!  Thank you for sharing your heart with the rest of us!

I really like this one myself.....

Very Well done....  This is a keeper......

The overall feel of the melody is really good..... NOt sure about the lyrics, but that can be fixed...

overall a good song structure......  well done
