can't touch this
Hellaluya, did you play all those instruments???

just kidding... I noticed some strings between 1:28 and 1:33 which sounded like you ripped them off a Legendary Pink Dots album. The rest sounded like oddball Ave Maria reversals.

But I like them trippy soundscapes.. I really do... I wish I could incorporate this kind of mesh into my own stuff but I just play rock tunes... one at a time...

so praise for you.

Hello,

modplug community is down.

you can still download mpt for free of course.

mpt is even in production today. There is an opensource version out.
I dont use VST so i use the last official version as both do not support 24bit samples.

I must admit, this is the greatest disadvantage of MPT.
Maybe this changes in the future...

Background film music?  Certainly that's what springs to mind for me (and others too as I read the reviews above).

It's a good sound to set to film, but for me that's as far as it goes.

Background music? not really! if I ever hear this as a sountrack I wouldn't be able to pay attention to the images. That means it's real ambience work, not messing around with pads and samples...

"The dissonant future" ?? it still seems a bit too armonic for that, I guess.

Not much more I can say about it really. At some point arround 3:00 I had this flasbacks to Wagner(Tristan un d Isolde, Prelude)...

GREAT!

Voted.

wow!!!

I'd also really like to see your sources.

1:28 sounds really familiar... quartet... shostakovich? bartok? probably way off...

amazing creation.

sources
hi there, thanks for the reviews. i am flattered.

on vioworld board (german) there was an interesting debate about the failure of modern (12-tone, serialism etc.) classical music. main statement was: you just think its cool because you can not process what the "composer" is doing.
in short: modern classical music is crap. if you do not know how to combine tonal+atonal elements, if you only deliver atonal stuff you failed.

there is a virtual online-orchestra in britain (.co.uk) online offering some of the (what they call) "phrases" used here. (they encourage you to use them, and they are royalty free) - (i even send the song to them to say thank you, but got no reply)

of course, no composer can compose all this stand-alone phrases on his own.
what kind of orchestra do you need?

So Methamphetamin is no composed song (except the 6-tone accord starting 1:40 is done by me)

well, you need to be patient and to have more than a lot (to say the least) of phrases, dissonances, vocals etc. at  the ready to deliver this.

i nearly collapsed while "composing" but thats not relevant.
Your reviews matter, and they made it all worthwile.

best regards
eftos
