Fishy Wish
*

This song is not in a battle

Just an 'old fashioned' rocksong.
main riff written by Hugo (look down under the band picture in photoalbum where i introduced them)
I was 'allowed' to do the solo and melodies

Band did the rest ofcourse and it evolved to this song.

I especially like the lyrics, as we were talkin fun about a little goldfish in the big sea having his dreams/fears in life, we got the idea of life seen by a fish as a metaphor. Whitout going to deep, i think they make sense in a humoristic way :P

Hope you'll enjoy.., and don't go sour..

Max

FISHY WISH (lyrics by Lawrence Payne)

Rainbow-wish goldfish…on a pile…
…of rubbish, dying for a dip in the Nile…
A Cycle-concluding Smile…

Well, here’s a wave goodbye from me…Glad to have swum your Shiny Sea…
Here comes the Drought…Too dry for me!…

Should all go sour…My Hope won’t melt away…NO WAY!!!…

Floating is real pretty…’til you fall…
Like a Sea-scene you smelled before…Halfway…Inside out…
For every mile you swim a smile…
Forever drifting on the Tide…
Towards the hour…of the rising Sky Flower…

So, don’t go sour…Hope won’t be far away…

How long must a fish wait for its favorite dish?…
I’ll have no bones at all…
                    SOLO
Had a chat with the Sun & Seven Seas…
…to find out why we always disagree?…
Straight it out!…the Horizon shouts…
I’m sick of being caught in the middle!…

Should all go sour…Sweet Hope will be on its way!…
                    SOLO
How long must a fish lay on a Golden dish?…
With no bones at all…gone away…
Yes, I know…some fish must wait for their Fishy Wish…
Caviar Hors d’œuvres for all…

Great Song
The song is very good. Especially the lyrics, they made me laugh, but they can also interpreted as serious...
The production quality is also very good... the bass is well balanced it's deep but it doesn't rumble.. maybe you could increase the presence of the solo guitar a bit... I like the vocals but I missed a bit the basic feeling to it... I mean maybe you can use an eq. to lift the frequencies around 200-500Hz.... but again that's just my taste... and I wouldn't do it as good as it is.

This has a very old rock sound to it.  Kind of Deep Purple rock rhythms meet, erm, Moody Blues vocals!!!
Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great sounding song.  The construction is great, but I agree that it could do with a bit of remixing in just the way Amused suggests.
Very good

U-tow in yet another incarnation. This band has shown its flexibility in terms of style. So far, I have heard epic rock, metal, even punk/ska, and now this seems to have a very "alternative-rock"  feel to me. Nevertheless, This is yet another inventive, well-executed piece. The lyric content reflects humor and philosophy all rolled into one. Vocals are magnificent. Guitar leads are quite good (bravo, Max!). Interesting, complex counter-melodies being played in the background. This song seriously rocks!

Great intro. The rest of the song is good because you're not trying to be too loud and overbearing to get your point across. You're just doin what you do, and in my opinion, that's the best thing you can do when you're in a band. Just be yourself, and let that show through in your music. Good stuff dude!
