EVERLONG (lyrics by Lawrence Payne)

How am I going to do it tomorrow?…
If I don’t know how to do it today?…
How am I going to ease the quarrels, baby…
…if I keep standing in my own way?…

My soul will search for truth until satisfied…
For it longs for the day to overcome…arise…I reach for the skies…

And how strong we are?…Your guess is as good as mine…
And how long we’ll stay?…It’s just a matter of Time to find…

…Sometimes our seeing looks more like deceiving…
I believe that you’re seeing it too…
Receiving a meaning…conceiving…concealing…
I see that you’re believing it too…

Everlong…don’t be gone…
Everlong…I’m waiting…for you…

If you really wanna be livin’ tomorrow…well, you could be like lovin’ today…
If you really wanna be loving’ tomorrow…than this could be your day!…
                                                 SOLO
Someone is seeing many beings believing…
I believe that you’re seeing it too…
The Quest seems endless ‘til you find…
Well, who was it that made our minds?…

Everlong… won’t be gone…
Everlong… will be waiting…

I await for us to see that what is greater beyond(our)belief…
A Beautiful place for you & me…The Fight’s allover…we’re Free!…

Great song.  Nicely played and recorded.

A pretty good blend of sounds -
      The phased guitar sounds great
      Heavy lead is nice
      Vocals well sung
Bass not quite bassy enough, and needs to be "dirtier"
Solo guitar is played well, but the sound is just a bit too "thin"
                                                        .............in my opinion!

All in all, nicely constructed with just a few fairly minimal sound issues.

Well done

Well, for sure you did have a very good recording quality with your band.

A different composer... still has that Maximalist (as opposed to Minimalist) texture...

And lots of things happening in there. It sounds faster and happier, but it doesn't bore. Toward the end more stuff is happening. Don't know if that was all that necessary, imo... probably takes away from commercial value, but adds depth.

Anyways, pretty cool.

*applauds for the dead band*

Hell yeah, this has a driving feel.  Even though there is a lot of distortion and effects, all the musicianship (which on the whole is on point) shines through.  I like the more complex progression at the end, also the breakdown near the beginning is very effective.

nice recording quality
The singer has a good feel for pitch, it's a strong voice, but I miss the vibrato on the held notes, such as the end note.

The rhythm matches the melody-in the new song, it felt like they were fighting each other. You can tell a singer wrote this, you know? Of course, I'm pretty sure that all songs revolve around the singer....(nice fade on vox at "skies..." I tend to want it to go up another note there, tho I don't know if he could do it-that wouldn't be an easy trick for a lot of guys...

I'd like to see one "brian worm" of a melodic hook, so I could walk away singing some part of the melody...

Also want to hear something at the end of the song get higher, but not everyone can write like Steve Perry. And it doen't make any sense for it to be that way, either...that's just what works for him.

I love the periodic half-step falls. Love the guitar at 3:10
