Score: 78.3%
Rank: 22nd
Battle: 2006-03

Mr. Down Happy- its a song about a guy Down Happy who has no ambition in life since he found out that the purpose of life was that there was no purpose at all! And everyone who tries to point out what a loser he is, he is just happy being himself- Down Happy. Everyone ends up in the same place- dust to dust. Make the most of life, enjoy it.

Well, recording is not the best but its because I recorded this live. So enjoy the tune.
Cheers

I enjoy your work, and this song is no exception.  Nice lyrical concept for a song.  Thanks for the background.

There is a certain element of repetition, but it is broken up a bit by the quarter note "punches" at 1:55 and 2:28.  Also, the guitar line helps add variety.  It's just a bit too quiet in the mix.

That said, I believe this is pretty darn good quality - considering the live recording.  Well done.  Thanks!

Very nice acoustic guitars...like swordfish said, it has a nice live sound to it.

One suggestion though...throw a guitar solo...maybe a modified version of that line we hear in the background that starts about 2:07

Other than that...quite nice, it has made it on to my iPod :-)

Nice song and nice recording too...

I would love to hear it again, but produced a little more. E.g. recording it again, one thing at a time, cause then you're able to fiddle with the volume of the different elements of the song. It would also suit the song to variate e.g. the guitar rhythm, for example by leaving it out sometimes maybe?

You have a kind of cool and laid back attitude in your way of singing it - again; nice

Clean recording
Hi all,
thanks for the reviews and great feedback & comments. I am in the process of getting some good mics so I can get even better sound clarity and perhaps spend more time in getting the sound that I would like. I play a lot of live music and generally get no time to record stuff...I love recording because then I can put it up on bandamp.com for you to take a shot at! Glad you are liking Mr.Down Happy. Also when you get the chance check out my MySpace band page at www.myspace.com/theartofbeing . Please do leave your comments on the page. Thanks.
