Tainted
*

This song is not in a battle

Recorded about five minutes after All That I Can Be, you'll probably be able to spot the similarities.

VERSE 1

Colours all tainted and bright,
In this room on the edge of the night.
Goodbye words, burning her lips,
And sticks to the air like dust.

She said I'm going outside for a while,
The gate was open all year.
Hinges all rusted, and buckled the weight,
Of the gate on the post by the door.

CHORUS

But she never came home, never came back,
Silence in the act, you'll never take back,
What you had said.

VERSE 2

Summers spent locked up in bed,
Feeling her absense fills up your head,
Like a cloud over your bones,
Echoing softly the whispers and moans.

Your body's this temple, trembles and aches,
Can't get to sleep but you're never awake.
Agressively tumbling, can't find the brakes,
To just stop.

CHORUS

But she never came home, never came back,
Silence in the act, you'll never take back,
What you had said.

BRIDGE

But something was wrong,
Admittedly, nothing was right.
It wasn't like her to run away,
Into the night.

Contemporary & moody
Very well tempered and calm piano play (with lots of experience, live played!) accompanied by a superb singer and intelligent verses. This is a professional profund production.

Wow... I really liked this song.  It's not even the type of song I would normally praise.   I'm not a big fan of the whisper-like vocals (in fact, whispering in motion pictures, no matter what the context, always sounds like fingernails against a chalkboard to me).  But your vocals in this song are perfectly suited to the piano playing, which is ideal in its simpicity.  Beautiful job!

Plus, the lo-fi sound of the piano really accentuates your theme.  Kudos!  "Tainted" is my favorite of your song posts.

You really know how to write a decent tune.  It's so simple, but is absolutely fabulous.

With a better recording, and a few other instruments quietly backing up your piano, this would be superb!  Again!!!

so thatīs tainted, huh? =:o)
Okay, listen, I looooooooove the first part of the second stanza. I mean, the lyrics on the whole are so you. "She said `Iīm going outside for a whileī-the gate was open all year" So beautiful.
I can hardly hear the piano though, but thatīs probably the crappy computer of my sister. The words hover above the calm chords, thatīs your unique and soft voice.
I am able to see you sitting on your piano, playing it when listening to this song and that is why, I agree, the song is very, very human. =:o)
I canīt wait to hear your other songs that I don't know yet =:o)
