Body shop
*

This song is not in a battle

(For those who may not know, "body shop" in the US English is a place where you take your car to have a dent fixed, not a cosmetics store to buy an eco-friendly moisturizer).  Sung in Russian by a car mechanic friend of ours (for authenticity's sake. See my "album").  Additional local flavor added by an accordion.  Enjoy and tell me what you think.  Regards to all.

that intro guitar tone could use some work, it doesn't have a lot of presence/brightness to it. that is, production wise, the only flaw.

sounds entertaining; party music. very well done, though my russian is somewhat rusty to say the least, so I couldn't make up much from the lyrics.

interesting, those lower harmonies in the vocals.

yes, nice, very nice, I really like it!

Thanks for the comment.  The lyrics pretty much say that our wellbeing depends on car mechanics (when in fact at the time it was written life in the USSR depended much more on the KGB).

frogg, asked: "there is any good punk music here or not?"

Try "She Gave Me the Blue" by Timotheus.  Enjoy.

Very good, seems to have an ironic humor to it, very lighthearted. Production isn't bad either. I found myself wanting to sing along, too bad I don't know Russian

Yes, the lyrics are ironic especially considering the fact they they are sung by a car mechanic friend of ours, who, while being drunk, was himself hit by a car few month before the session. He was still on crutches while singing.  A very Russian situation indeed.

This is really interesting.  I have just discovered this song and have listened to it repeatedly.  I am very glad you shared the background story to it, especially the part about the singer being on crutches.  Every time I listen to it, I form a vivid picture of a hobbling, blue-collar Russian crooning out the tune, and I can't help but smile.  Fantastic work.
