Dirty Blues
*

This song is not in a battle

This is a blues riff with a hint of distortion, hence the name. Don't expect too much from it.

well all right.......

Rumour sprendin' a-'round in that Texas town
'bout that shack outside La Grange
and you know what I'm talkin' about.
Just let me know if you wanna go
to that home out on the range.
They gotta lotta nice girls.

Have mercy.

A haw, haw, haw, haw, a haw.
A haw, haw, haw.

Well, I hear it's fine if you got the time
and the ten to get yourself in.
A hmm, hmm.
And I hear it's tight most ev'ry night,
but now I might be mistaken.
hmm, hmm, hmm, hmm.

Have mercy.

Ha, ha, haaaa. I like those lyrics, maybe I will add them, lol.

I guess it does sound a bit like La Grange, however, it wasn't intended to be a rip off of it.
I was just jammin' away one day and came out with that.

The mods can remove the riff if they wish to, because I do not want to break the rules.

Yeah mate, still playing. I haven't been here for quite a while though.
I have been a bit busy, but I hope to spend a bit more time here from now on, maybe upload some new stuff I have been working on. I shuddered when I came back and listened to my old junk that I had recorded a couple of years ago, lol.

P.S.
Bandamp sent me an e-mail that a response was made to this thread, that's how I came about reading your reply.

BTW, I want to thank the admins here at bandamp for not deleting my profile. I was sure that they would have, seen I haven't been around for so long.

naa, we don't delete profiles - only when members have been abusive...

and yes as this is blues and most blues resembles most other blues (it comes with the genre) there is no way this can qualify as being a "rip off" of some existing blues tune... coz... that comes with the genre.

anyway nice dirty sound you got there. nothing too original indeed but the playing is well executed. sounds like you had a lot of playing this.

good luck, and nice to see you back! BasketCase's excavation actions are paying off

Nice 12 bar blues with great distortion, reminds me alot of the blues jams I used to have down here in Texas with some of my friends. Really, I need to learn how to get that meaty distortion to work with blues.

Thanx for the replies fella's, it is much appreciated.

The distortion is just me going through my DOD Fx7 processor, straight into the computer via the recording desk.

As for playing it, just play around with power chords and palm mutes, throw a minor pentatonic, mixed with a blues scale over the top and it will come together for you.

P.S.

Call me a dumb Aussie, but what the hell is a noodles?

Noodles is Chow Mein. Used in Asian Cuisine, Stir-Fried Noodles! Quite tasty . =P But in a slang sense, it's either your brain (cos they look similiar) or noodling around on guitar, all over the place. Bit like spaghetti!

As for the recording, good mood and I liked the verb and rhythm part.

Right...I can relate dumb and aussie...haha only joking!
Noodle is basically to improvise on an instrument "casually" or by chance.
Congrats for the ashes!
Well that's something our american fellas won't understand.
