This song is not in a battle

Haven't posted anything for aaages. Thought I'd throw this out here. didn't play it all that well however, was a little hungover

VERSE:

Somewhere, deep beneath the ocean,

Lies this box of voices hiding,

Masked in, dust like sand storms underwater.

CHORUS:

It’s the words I cannot say,
When I need them most of all.

It’s the ones that cut so deep,
Are pressing on my walls.

Release this anchor, thank you,
For all you haven’t done.

I’ll be waiting when they come.

VERSE:

Tie me down a rock is nearby,

Vocal flood walls leave me dripping words out,

Of my mouth when I have so much built up.

- Chester

i've mixed feelings about it - on one hand it is a beautiful song, really fanstastic. On the other, though, I have an impression I have heard the song somewhere before. MAYBE it's just because you come up with such memorable melodies that gives me such a feeling. Well, anyway, a very good job on the composition. I'd add some variation to the melody, as for any criticism.

Good luck to you

OH YEA!
I'm soo glad you have posted again. Obligations is my fav song by far. I have it in my iPod, I put it on a cd of fav songs, and perserved all the id tags for you
This song is very lovely, you def have a wonderful way of writing lyrics. Probably sounds familiar to JBP bc it does have a familiar ring, but I think it suits this type of song well. You have a beautiful voice.
However, was that a cough I heard at 1:55? lol And what was that at 2:34? Man, recover, take some aspirins and cough drops before you record. ha,ha that's funny stuff.
And I thought your name was Travis O. from the ID tags, not Chester?
Anyway, I hope you'll upload some more songs soon.

Good tune. Not really much I can say, I do agree with JBP it does remind me of something I've heard before Soul Asylum maybe, not a bad thing. Once again really good song, but I think you could do a lot more with it. Keep it up.

Extremely familiar, maybe because i've already listened to this song 10 or 15 times... hmph... well anyway, another great song from the almighty chester, i like how you mess up and don't bother to re-record it, seriously.

I really like the guitar in this song, it reminds allot of Elliott smith. Synchro between the rhythm and vocals are awesome. How can you make so many good songs?

Fantastic words Chester. My Lord, you leave a person pondering the words and the feelings of expression in this song. This one has a message for me too. You do have an ability to reach into what a person could be feeling. And at 46 myself, this IS a gift. Keep it coming man.........peace.....jgv
