Dark Room

This song is not in a battle

This is a re-recording of a song I wrote in '95. It was inspired by the feelings I got while developing a picture of a mysteriously beautiful girl I snapshot at some dodgy underground party, of which I had otherwise only minor recollection.

For this version, recorded many years later, I had to recall the right sentiment but ofcourse it had blurred somewhat over time (hence the lo-fi effects experiment).

The end bit of the lyrics (being utterly drowned by the instrumental noise) reads:

"reach in, reach deeper, and destroy...

reach out and destroy"

it stands for: however nice the picture turned out to be, it had very little to do with the actual girl you went after. trying to pursue a dream, you might find yourself running for a cold shower...

This is probably the dreariest song I ever wrote. Except for "So Happy" but I'm not bloody likely to upload THAT anywhere!

You're probably getting bombarded with emails telling you you have critiques to all your songs...Sorry  I'm going through them ALL! MWHAHAHA!
You have such a unique style...I love how the song just sorta sucks you in... I like the story behind it too, I think you translated it really well to song format

I love the atmosphere you create.  it is very moving.  I think the only problem
i have is that the vocals get kind of buried in the mix.  It might be my loud music damaged hears, but I have a devil of a time picking out the lyrics.

So, I really dig that, how exactly do you do that to your voice? It was pretty wicked...I did the mellow intensity in the dark guitar with the (Keyboard?) in the backround. No wondor you're one of the top five here.

well, this ditty is all about atmosphere, it's essentially a soundscape, and the lyrics are subjucated to that. it's more about the sound of voice, and the story told is but abstract.. rudimentary... but real.

"in the scent and dust - in a river of lust
and the touch goes deeper, and deeper still"

surely is a piece of lyric with an erotic nature. does it require explanation?

Yeah I like this one my kind of music.   Got some Floyd influence?

It really sounds like something Sid Barret would have done.

Its a cross of late 60's some Late 80's and Early 90's music style.
I like a musician who combines different time eras.

Hats are off to you Puppet.   - Mark from GRUNTLED
