This song is not in a battle

12 bar blues piece. Recording quality is quite bad, my master editing skills are lacking quite a bit. Wasn't sure how to get the tone down. It's all mostly improvised, i just had a basic structure that i stuck. When it gets fast at the end, i go out of time a lot, i just want some feedbakc so that i can record it good and proper.......Enjoy!

knackered
heck of a start

do you play out much

the pace quick is a common trick of blues bands (also gospel bands) I dont use it because (like you said) it hard to maintain common pace...

the quality is not that bad...has that bar sound...

I know when I started my own studio, (2 years ago)you just have to keep recording and stuff just comes to you (try this...try that...)
I felt at the time, that it took a year before a air quality recording came out..."pokin" was the first that everything worked on and then it was several tunes later that the second good one came...I got a small powered mixer and preamped the mikes sending them into the computer...then, you can cut all the levels and lose the dirty sound (unless that's what you're looking for that time)

i think a large part of the apparent sound quality is the guitar distorter.

nice sound overall, but i think that as it stands (quality and everything) there's a bit too much cymbal and hi-hat crashing in some parts.

the timing comes with practice, obviously, so i won't give any silly lectures over that.

it took me a second to realize this, but there's almost NO bass in the final mix.  not like, an bass instrument--i mean, no literal bass sound.  i bass-boosted it in winamp just to see, but the song remained almost unchanged in sound    you may want to try to put the guitar sound through audacity's bassbooster.  careful not to overdo it though.

what bass there may be is completely outweighed by the treble of those cymbals on the drums.

i think that a strong, audible bass line would do a lot for this piece.  the timing didn't seem so bad by the middle and end.  it just took it a while to come together.

certainly not a bad composition though!  i might try to pick a nicer distortion sound too.  as it is, the distortion leaves a lot of static-y noise.  i think some more bass sound from the guitar would help that, so you'll have to experiment and stuff.

looks like you know your way around the guitar though!  very nice job there!
