Would you like to have a birthday calendar somewhere on this site?
I thought that BandAmp sends a birthday card via Email. The user can decide to set his/her birthday in this list.

Same to the messenger software.
I saw that Skype is not in the user details and has to be added.
But what about to show the messenger "Online" state on BandAmp?

btw
Where are the "News" authors and writers?

Idea for voting campaign

So the battles must be up and running and so must the voting, there have been numerous suggestions to get people to vote, heres another;

The old bandAmp site had an orange logo stuck to the bottom right hand corner of the page which I believe would stay there when you scrolled up or down.
Why cant there be a box/image with 'You have not yet voted for this song' on it that sticks to the edge/corner of a page if that member / ip address hasn't voted for that song, it might only work for members but it might at least work.
It should be slightly irritating but not too much because people do after all have a choice. But it should be allowed to 'nag' them to vote! lol

FROM FLYER COMMENT - new battle system
There hasn't been a song that has qualifies in the last 3-4 battles...We have to think about restructuring our battle system...Battle's give incentive to musicians to be the best they can be...Since we have a donation kitty we could afford prizes for the competitors. 1st 2nd and 3rd place winners. It doesnt have to be a extravagant award. We could even make it cash prizes. $15.00 for 1st ...$10.00 for 2nd and for 3rd place .. This way the money can be spent on something that the artist wants for themself. and at the end of the year we could present a award to the Artist's that has the the top rated Song for the year(highest rating) This way members will be encouraged to enter songs in the battles and to rate / vote on them...we can also give awards for the yr to best rated collaborated/individual songs...Just a few thought's here....

Flyer
So, I was thinking... now that mud isn't officially running the site, there's no "free" stuff that gets to be thrown around.... like... he used to give away free ipod minis (when ipod mini was the new big thing) to the 1st place winner. Now that we're headed into the open source direciton, we've only got our donations to scrape from, if we looking at giving money away (even a small amount would add up over time... and it'd be tragic if it got to the point where there weren't enough donations to support the prizes and we had to discontinue the system (again).

I was just thinking though.... (holy crap!!1! i just ate a reese's cup without taking the black wrapper off. I'm an idiot.) ... *ahem*... I was thinking about what FLYER just said about a yearly thing.... what if the turned the battle into something that was quarterly, rather than monthly? That might seem like an eternity for those artists entered into the battle, but it might also be part of a bigger solution. Between trying to reinstate some sort of miniature prize, and increasing the duration of the battles, we could try to revive them!

And, as an addition, I think a "best song of the year" and a runner-up would be really cool, too. Good idea, flyer.

(i'm sorry, this post is about to get huge... i apologize, really. but i'm on a roll.)

Imagine this:

every 3 months, there's a battle that finishes. March 31st, June 30th, September 30th, December 31st. In the last 2 or 3 weeks of each battle period, there's a notice at the top of the main forum (and maybe sub forum) pages, to let everybody know that the battle is approaching it's finish date, and that people should be sure to rate for all of the songs that they listen to, even if they don't post a comment. I dunno. Something short and to the point.

Then, after the battle finishes, for a couple weeks afterward, the notice is replaced by a brief "congrats" to the top 3 placers, where it links to each artist's profile and the song that placed.

I think that the battles probably just need more exposure, and then they'll blossom :D

And if the ideas presented by PX and discussed by myself and others concerning more options for your uploaded music are ever implamented, then songs that are allowed to be entered into battles if they are non-archived/non-noplay'able, etc. In other words, only the songs found in the normal Audio Review forum and the theoretical "Collab" Forum should be entered into the battle.

At the end of the year, I think that it'd be really really neat and exciting to see a full-out awards & recognition thing. No prizes per se, but recognition. More than a notice would be necessary at the top of the main forum page... more like a page all to itself containing the winners. Best cover. Most unique. Most Well Produced. Most original. Best vocals. Best all-digital creation (FL style, etc). And maybe a few awards given to songs that are nominated for certain genres. Best traditional rock, etc. Best jazz. Best Acoustic. Blah blah.

I personally find those awards to be very interesting, and I would be terribly and unalterably interested in the outcomes!

The Quarterly system would call for a few changes in the current setup, IMO. I say that a Nomination-AccetanceOfNomination system should be appended to what we've already got. Anybody can nominate a song via the song's thread in Audio Review. Once, say.... 5, 6, nominations have been made on a person's song, then a PM shows up in the author's mailbox requesting permission to accept the nomination. (some people may not want to be involved, etc). We could allow self-nominations, I suppose, but that's just a detail. The voting system could remain exactly the same. Once the acceptance has been made, then votes will actually mean something in terms of placing in the battle. If your song is not entered into the battle (since it didn't get nominations) then the vote average (IMO) should still be visible to the author of the song on his/her My Music page.

Perhaps songs that have been nominated, but not enough nominations have been made to exceed the threshold (5 or 6+ or whatever), can have a page to themselves. A little link can be placed in the above-forum notice about the battle's deadline for entering, etc. That way, songs that have been already nominated once or twice can have a chance at being seen, to as to recieve the rest of the nominations necessary to enter the battle. It would help decrease any "campaigning" that an artist might be inclined to do, to try to get people to nominate his/her song.

thoughts? I can expound on the idea's layout a little more if anybody wants. I'm thinking of making a couple of doctor'd up "screen shots" of the forum to help give a visual... I don't really know where this idea of a new battle system falls in the priority of things to do/fix.

ONLY MP3 UPLOADS?

This topic has been bugging me for a while!
Why can you only upload MP3 files for your songs!?!?!?! This is sooo annoying!
Most of the songs I record are in WAV format!!! Cant BandAmp just allow WAV files as well? I cant upload my new songs now because they are in WAV! Who else agrees with me? I think we should drive this down hard so we can upload more than just MP3 files!
At least just MP3 and WAV!!!

Any thoughts?

an alternate to deleting songs (& other options)

I realize that we just talked about how certain features shouldn't really be worried about over the more pressing problems, but I wanted to at least make this comment:

I was thinking about how to avoid the whole song deletion controversy :P What if a member had the option from his/her My Music page to "archive" a song, thus removing it from the Audio review forum's song list (which is likely buried at least in the 2nd or 3rd page). The user's My Music page would still show it as uploaded, although archived. Clicking on the song from the My Music page would be the only way to have access the thread. The mp3 part of the user's post would then be omitted (commented out of the php code or something) and and all of the posts would be viewable. Posting would be locked on the topic (again, just comment out the "post a reply" part of the page's php html-building script).

We circumvent the problem of deleting people's remarks (as was complained about a while back) and at the same time shoot down the mp3 file so that it can't be listened to anymore (since that's likely the goal the user had in mind).

Extra optional tailoring:
-add a "unarchive" feature, to bring the song back out into the open.
-altering the "song's uploaded" stat by each users name to only reflect the number of unarchived songs.

conceptually, are there any opinions about that? this certainly would be something taken care of later, as there are more important issues to be dealt with first, I think.

Song delete

As far as I followed the "abusive member" discussion I thought about doing following programming:
If anyone deletes a song (member or mod) then there will be the amount of 9 posts subtracted. So he/she has to make new posts on other members area until the post counter is greater than song * 3.

Example #1:
2 songs and 6 posts
> 1 song deleted
1 song and -3 posts
now he/she must do min 9 posts to reach the (1oldsong+1new song) * 3 = 6 posts before a new song can be uploaded.

Example #2:
14 songs and 500 posts
> 2 songs deleted
12 songs and 482 posts
nothing happens because the count of posts is greater than (12old+1new)*3 = 39 (mininum)

The reason/idea why I want to subtract 9 posts is a kind of "punishing" this member by deleting his/her songs.
And this would be deterring some members of being such one-song-wonders we had on here in the past

Who agress? other suggestions?

just noticed a missing feature..

hey, i couldn't help but notice while I was rewriting the FAQ that the "Vote" tab is now gone from the top of the pages.. it used to link to the url: http://browse.bandamp.com/random_songs.html

i personally thought it was a nice idea, having random songs pitched at you for the sake of voting on them.

i can imagine a couple of reasons why this was removed, though I'll be honest and say that I'm not sure it was a good idea to remove it...?

if this is a matter of reviewing old long-and-gone songs and not newer ones.. then... how about we make the "random_songs.html" page only pull up songs uploaded within a given time frame? That sounds reasonable. I think that people don't rate songs enough as it is anyway... deleting this feature won't solve THAT problem.

for example... the current battle for December 07. here's the lineup. tell me what you notice about the Rated : View ratio...

Aspirations 6	229	Oct 2007
From The Day...	5	239	Nov 2007
Rush (live)	6	240	Dec 2007
The Challenger Of Salinger	6	256	Dec 2007
Blue	3	308	Nov 2007
Ariel	5	312	Nov 2007
Silent Night	7	332	Nov 2007
Lucile	5	378	Nov 2007
Heartbeat Symphony	7	448	Aug 2007
Bandamp Blues	8	686	Aug 2007
Leave It All Behind	8	794	Jun 2007

notice how my song, Aspirations, has only 2 votes less than Leave It All Behind (bottom of list), weighing in at a terrifying 8 votes. I've got 229 views, and he's got 794. His has been up 3 months longer. For me, that's about a 38 views per one vote. For GuitarKen (author of Leave it All Behind), that's a 99 views per one vote.

let's assume that 400 of thos views that GuitarKen has are just random passers-by, who maybe browsed into the page by mistake, or began listening, and then stopped and moved on. Or maybe it was GuitarKen wacking the refresh button over and over :) it doesn't matter. so if only half (let's just say 400, to be approximate) of those views are legit, that's still only a one-in-fifty vote count. that's terrible... absolutely wretched.

So, i pose the question... how can we help promote the rating feature of bandamp? If the community is all about helping each other out, rating seems like a good way to help that along. I'm _not_ looking for ways to make darn sure everybody knows i'm amazing or anything egotistical, really... I'm here to improve, but the rating feature doesn't seem to be holding water right now, especially when the random voting page was nuked.

i'll first interject some commentary on the subject of ratings...

i personally don't like the fact that i can't see how many votes I have on any of my uploads. i'm not even talking WHAT the votes represent, numerically. I'm just talking about the sheer number of votes that I have collected. ... why? it makes the vast majority of the info fields on my Music tab very open and blank. ideally, i'd like to see what my average rating is as well, but i can see why this hasn't been something implamented into the visible info.

perhaps if my song ratings were only visible to me alone? or something. i don't know. i'm looking for suggestions and ideas.

(sorry if i came off as critical of whoever decided to have the "random" voter page redirect to the Current Battle page.. i'm not trying to throw a punch at you (whoever you are). i'm just looking for some way to encourage voting on EVERY song!)

Idea for new smiley icons

YOu know what we need? A Crododile Hunter smiley icon. You can't even tell me that that wouldn't be amazing. I'm not sure he could have blue skin though.. that wouldn't work out so hot. And the code to trigger it could just be :hunter: or :croc: or something.

Can I get three cheers for having conforming smilies? How about head-shaker boy here: :shake: Why is he a solid shade of blue while the rest of the possy are nice and gradiented? :)

Just tell me who to email the gif images and I'll edit them myself for some admin to update, if necessary. Just give me the word :D

To cover or not to cover

This is the question....

It has been brought to my attention that the rules page still says no covers allowed... Below you will find a link to the update to that rule, that was posted in a thread dealing with covers:
    http://forum.bandamp.com/Abuse/6012_page2.html

This is posted by the prophet himself, Entheon... Now, that being said, we definitely can add a forum page to handle covers/remixes later.. but until then, should we stop all covers to keep Bandamp ONLY original music, and take Bandamp back to it's original intentions, an Indie site for Indie musicians filled with original music not available ANYWHERE ELSE...

Let me know what you think! This is VERY IMPORTANT people.... So, start tippity tappin on them keys!! Cmon!! You can do it!!!!

I would like to strongly suggest required reviewing. Like atleast 3 reviews per upload. I know of a few people who are sick and tired of the way things run around here as far as reciprocal reviews and such. I know there are more than a few people who just drop their songs off and leave like this was a babysitting service or something. I think this site would be a million times more fun to visit if it wasnt the same 6 or 8 people doing all the reviewing!

Seeing as you're busy about the site, I have a question :
Would it be possible to implement a 'lyrics tab' ?
To work on the same system as the 'blog tab'
I take it that as lyrics are posted on their own page/forum they must have a 'posted in lyrics review' id

Just two thing I want to make a point of, I know the site might be open soon to implement these things 'our selves', but never the less......

A lyrics tab ; it it SO illogical and thus frustrating that there's a Lyrics Forum but no Lyrics tab ( as with Links and Blog etc )
I cant check to see which lyrics I've posted, I've tried the obstinate search page with only comments as results, it does not search on title!!!

A link in the Flash Player to the song being played, I use it often to listen to my 'playlist' but if I want to get to that particular song I have to go through the damn search page again or look for the user, which is all right if that user happens to be in your favourites but otherwise it's the dreaded search page!

Unless of course I'm missing some illusive 'link to all' somewhere !

Your BandAMP

As many of you have noticed, BandAMP has no ads, no dues, no fees of any kind. And that's great. But, we are limited to working in our free time. There are a few new programmers on board, you may have met them, but they keep rather quiet. Expect a few updates in the coming weeks.

There's been some talk of upsizing BandAMP. Part of this is a reaction to our absence, and part of it is a reaction to BandAMP's success. You've all made this a great site, a resource for talented musicians and a source of pleasure for music enthusiasts. We certainly don't want to stand in your way. At times it may feel that technical issues (bugs) are holding you back. You've been patient and we will address (squash) these obstacles.

The BandAMP culture is our greatest pride. And so, before upsizing, we'd like strong consensus from members. Do you want more exposure? A larger audience? Do you want to see more musicians on the site? Would you like the community to stay just as it is? BandAMP may be obscure, but its link is seen by several million people each month, on the top of several high-traffic websites (noted simply as indie music). We can interface with myspace, posting data from the forum / blogs to an account. We can find a larger audience by expanding our linking. But do you want us to?

What The Amp?

Okay. I come back and find that it is extremely hard to login. My password is always saved by Firefox, so this shouldn't be a problem. But the way I had to log in was going to the signup page, going to login into your account, and in order for it to work, I had to check "save password to your computer". Along with this weirdness, when I went to go browsing the website, If I clicked on the "My Home" tab up at the top, it brings me to the Signup part instead. If I click on the My Home on the side, it goes to my home. Another thing I ran across is that it says I have to comment on 50 more songs before I can upload an MP3. What the heck?! I mean at first when I couldn't click on the stars on the comment box, that was okay, but I think this is really bad. I am not going to use Internet Explorer (If that actually "fixes" the problem) just because things are screwy on Firefox. :(

I'm not talking about *songs* here, just posts about Music Theory, or perhaps Lessons, or anything else that might be *very* interesting to everyone. This would be a kind of *gateway* into BandAMP... Would be listed on our homepage.

Read all about it!!!

I,MeowMachine, and others think it would be a cool idea if someone interviews artists around the AMP!
So I guess I'll do it since I don't have a life lol
How It Will Work:
I'm just gonna ask you some questions,be completely honest and have fun with it :]
The main idea is to get to know the AMPers better and to have an awesome time!
Then I will post the interview in some thread somewhere...

If you would like to be interviewed, say so and if not say no
Hope to hear from you all!

Dont allow people to delete songs

It's happening way too much: people are deleting songs which have bad feedback or comments they find distasteful. Songs should only be deleted by request of administration with good reason.

Of course, writing this means nothing.

I demand an administrator reply to my countless PMs and forum posts.

Fuck that: Mudd--I'll pay you $10 to talk to me for 15 minutes on Yahoo, MSN or AIM--surely your time is worth $40 an hour?

Song Downloads

I think it'd be great if we could make having your songs downloadable optional. Because I have some stuff from the studio that I really want to put on here but I'm legally not allowed if it's downloadable. It has to be streaming...

ANYONE?!

What do you think, Mud?

Thank you, BandAMP

I want to thank the AMP for the recent upsurge in tracks and votes. It's fantastic to see the Audio Review section so full, I don't know where to start. It's also fantastic to see it have new posts day in and day out. Something great happened here while I was on holiday, and here's to hoping it sticks.

Battles!

We should get a battle system!

2 or more members battle each other.

They have to create a song for the battle and it could be based on a theme.

(Like writing a song about how you're writing the song or something like that ;))

People then submit their entries and then people can vote on their favourite!

The song with the most votes wins!

I don't know if this is possible or not but I hope so, because I'd lvoe this!

I thought this site could have a theme challenge forum
so everybody is called to make a song to a special theme.
this could be "A summer song challenge"
or "A love song challenge"
or "The big belly song challenge" or what ever comes up.

A Player In the Posts?

just a thought.
I listened to a song and would like to give an idea of what I would play in an other way, just a small snippet. And then I missed a button for upload my suggestions and a separate player in the message I posted

Maybe would be easier to follow a thread with suggestions.

Does it makes sense to have an upload button there including a player for showing own ideas?

How to get more Votes on songs?

I have noticed a continueing trend here lately......... NO ONE VOTES!!!

Does anyone have ideas on how to make this better? I mean we cant make you vote but how do we get more people to vote for songs?
The top songs from last month had like 10 or 11 votes. How can they be considered the top songs if thats all the votes they get. It should be atleast 25 or so. But its like people just dont care about that.
Its not called a contest ao that only the moderators here can vote for a winner. I am out of ideas, just want to know if anyone has anything at all.

My Home page - Snippets

More ideas! I'm just rolling them out!

Is it possible, on "My Home" page, to only have snippets, of what you have posted. Like if you search in Google, and it gives you about 500 characters. It would save my scrolling finger, when i'm going to see what someone's written about a song/post i've made.

It makes it especially difficult, as i wrote quite a lengthy biography, that is always at the top, so i have to scroll past it every time i want to see if anyone's replied to a song/post!

Search?

It would be good for there to be a search feature on here, so that you can type in keywords, and all the threads with those words in the title/text come up. This would be useful, for people like me starting up a thread like this, so that i can find out if a similar thread has already been posted, and therefore depletes the need for me to make the thread. Also, it saves trawling through pages of threads, to find something that you want to read.

Anyone else agree? Is there already a search feature that i've missed?

BandAMP needs a rehaul

BandAMP is in my personal opinion one of the best communities on the 'net. Do you realize how much talent we have here? The Admins have done a great job of building that community, but it feels like its time for some changes.

1) Fix the ****ing battles. This is the staple of the site!
     * Hold it every two months. That way we can have a larger collection of songs. Also, don't allow songs submitted before the battle's start date to be entered.
     * Require users to vote for a song for every 10 posts they make in other forums.
     * Allow voting on non-battle songs for feedback.
     * Allow viewing of a song's average rating when a) not entered in a battle b) in the middle of battle, not just when the battle ends.

2) Split up the site!
     * The whole song threat/forums integration seems like a hack to me. It feels like lyrics/songs should be seperated from the forums. And they should have more special features than just the normal forums (when you submit a song there could be a textbox for inspiration, lyrics&chords, then comments). Also you should be able to submit songs and mark them as "incomplete" and these should be separate from "complete" songs.

3) New design!
     * Something lighter on the eyes, more space, more color. I mocked this up:
        http://www.emptysnow.com/bandamp/
I did it real quick so look at in in firefox to see the way I intended it to be, IE fixes will come later if the admins want to talk about it.

Admins, I'll help with PHP, mysql, HTML,CSS coding; the works (if you need help).

BandAMP has soooo much potential. Why are we wasting it with a halfbroken, old system? The reason people aren't voting is because a) the battle system really is USELESS it is so broken and b) the site doesn't have the best UI it could.

Congrats to starting the site, building the community, hacking together a really brilliant forum system...now let's make it better.

DEAR ADMINISTRATION

Ok, what is the deal with the battle? How is it that a song from 2 years ago is competing with songs that were

entered this month? Of course, the song entered 2 years ago won!!! Why, cause it had 2 years to collect votes!!!

Something is not right here!!! The song that won did not compare (no offense) to the others in the top 4. And

then another song listed as having won had only 15 votes!!!!! WHAT IS GOING ON??? I know im not the only

one that is disgruntled over the whole deal? Something must be done! I think the battle is an awesome concept

but if I can sit back for a couple of months and collect votes and then enter and compete against songs that were

just entered then Ill win everytime! Shouldnt recent songs compete with recent songs, etc. I know this much, it

feels rigged. im not going to compete anymore until there is some resolution. I just dont think things are right.

hey guys im no expert on music
or computers but.. how hard would
it be to add an option to send mp3
folders over bandamp? Im doing a
collab and I dont want people to be
able to see my stuff before its finished
I guess we could use email but still
i try to keep every thing together
and if we could PM people mp3s
that would make collab for everyone
better and alittle easier but thats
just a thought although it could
be the pain pills talking (long story)
but I think this would benefit
bandampers every where! It cant really
be that hard.... can it? :o

Play list grouping

Slasher! How difficult would it be to implement a 'Grouping Option' in our personal playlist pages?
So we could categorize our favorite bandAmp music, the best example of a use would be if you give a party somewhere and make your own different playlists beforehand.
So bandAmp stays on all night! :D
We could name our own groups and obviously choose who goes where, they could sit at the top of the 'playlist page' with a ?folder? icon.

Something else the 'tab tip' when you mouse over the delete icon says "Delete to Playlist" Ha Ha Cheepskates! you just copied and pasted the Copy to.....

BandAMP "Classifieds"

Collab thread in the pit.
I was thinking about starting a thread in the pit where people can place collab requests all in the one place, rather than waiting for someone browsing the pit who is looking for the exact thing they're offering. As in, someone might be looking to add guitar to the song, and someone might feel like doing a collab can go to that thread and think- "hey, that sounds like my style, sure I'll do that".
I know people have discussed a thread where people post their collabs separate from other audio's, so, why not have a thread looking to start collabs with maybe a "log on to chat at so and so time to discuss further, or PM me if you are interested, etc etc."

So, I was thinking of starting a thread, and see if people like the idea and will make use out of it.

I'll start the thread now and post a link a bit later.

Cheers

Embedding the player off-site

Can I embed the player offsite?

I could actually be a cock and just do it, but I don't want to if you aren't happy with it. I think it would be a big deal and would be very useful for myself and other people who have personal websites.

Maybe you could have a little javascript that would do it and would be generated when someone uploads a song. I could probably write a small demo script if you don't know what I am talking about.

Thanks.

Music/Downloads

Just to pitch an idea here, on the table for discussion.
Example: On myspace, the music can sometimes be downloaded, sometimes not.

Should we have the choice on here? Some people (I notice puppetxeno) have music they want to sell, and posting it here means that it's free for the taking. If someone has music they plan to sell, and want the community opinion of bandamp (or a little self promotion), but don't want free distribution of their music, then they might find it quite useful. On the other hand, someone starting out, and who would use the assistance of other members to bring a fresh take on their music (or other members collabing and what not) can allow the track to be downloaded.

On the other hand there will be a restriction to people's ability to work with eachother if they just decide to disallow their music for download.

Don't know how hard it is to program this sort of thing, and don't know what people would like, just pitching an idea.

Upsizing BandAmp

this thread is a product of something mentioned in the Prizes! Weee! thread in the Announcements section.

We're trying to get Bandamp's name known.

quote, Puske
I think all the prizes mentioned are a great idea. Maybe at the end of the year you can give out CD's with all of the winners of the battes on it. I know if I won a battle the Professional CD cover and case with my name on it would be something I would frame.....haha. Thanks for the website...It kicks ass.

quote, Iszil
Great idea!
So then the CD is a present for the winners of the battle and the other just can buy it.
You can put in the little book of the case ( don't know how you call it) a picture of the winners and an their biography and... well if you have a some idea put it in.

      > Iszil

There may be a good idea floating around in this. we've been trying to spark up the annual BandAmp Cd again (refer to the project posts: 2005 and 2006) Perhaps we can adapt the idea to the above quoted ideas.

at first, i'll admit, i thought that the cd being for sale was a silly idea, since the members could just download the songs for free if they wanted, but the novelty of having a more professional cd (something like what we've been trying to do for 2005 and 2006) might be enough to drive soemthing like that on a small scale. to be honest, a lot of the members of BandAmp aren't terribly pro-active, so it may be hard to make decent sale on a cd like this, but..

Alittlepaperdoll and I were talking, and it might be worth it to produce these cds and then sell them off locally to friends and family, loved ones and enemies, for the sake of spreading bandamp's name. you may be able to select "agents" to handle the local distribution: a few people around the world to run the scene in their own areas. they could recieve printed professional cds from some lead coordinator (perhaps an admin, or alittlepaperdoll, since she's heading the project this time) and then they could sell them off for like, $5 to friends. if they need more, they can put a request into the LeadCoordator ("the Lead" for short :) ). it might be an interesting way to try to get the Cd to help produce itself. last year, i shelled out the money to produce it and print it, and so i think it might be nice to make the cd produce money to help cover such costs.

the only kink to work out is how to get the money to the Lead again. we don't want a bunch of local banadampers running around with pocketed money :)

perhaps bandamp could make some sort of online interface to purchase the cds? that would eliminate the need for local agents to handle the cds themselves. in this case, the agents would only be responsible for talking to people about the cds and giving them the site address. maybe the agents could burn their own little sampler cds out of old battle winner songs.

any ideas?
