And She...

This is the placeholder for a new MP3 player

This song is not in a battle

A song that my friend and I wrote and recorded real quick...about 10 years ago using just my old Tascam cassette 4-track.

He wrote the lyrics originally as a poem and I thought they would work great as a pop-rock-ish ballad - what can I say it was 2002 or so at the time. This recording was the result of me trying to flesh the song out.

Thats me struggling my way through playing guitar and singing at the same time and the drum machine doing its thing.

BTW thats the writer of of the lyrics providing the background vocal on the chorus lead in.

I can't wait to contribute more to this community.

Edit: Lyrics

And She...

The words she spoke
In her ear
Those silly thoughts
In her head

In a book she wrote
Her biggest fears
In her heart
A sense of dread

She keeps on running...

And she runs
And she hides
And keeps the pain inside

And she can't quite figure out
What went wrong with her life

And she runs
And she hides
And keeps the pain inside

And she can't quite figure out
what went wrong with her life

All she needs
(Is) a little time
All she wants
is to liver her life, but

(There's) no holding on
Can't get no breaks
She just keeps on running
The great escape

And she keeps on running...

And she runs
And she hides
And keeps the pain inside

And she can't quite figure out
What went wrong with her life

And she runs
And she hides
And keeps the pain inside

And she can't quite figure out
What went wrong with her life

And she runs...
And she runs...
And she runs...

Hello and welcome to bandAMP

Nice old school vocal vibes. You should post the lyrics, just go to edit and add them in the main description.
So what have yo been doing since 2002, have you thought about recording some more songs? You can get loads of help here if you are unsure of modern recording set-ups.

Thanks for the compliment.

After the band went our separate ways I haven't done much recording or writing actually. I have basically spent my time on other pursuits ...noodling and every now and again recording the occasional riff. My recording set up has been updated since now I use an old MOTU 896 firewire interface and Cubase to do any recording I might want to do.

I'm looking to put more focus back on writing and recording I miss it.

You could start by re-recording this song.
I'm going through the longest phase of not recording a song, I put it down to being too dam Mr Perfecto...... I  have raised the bar beyond my reach. So, I'm trying my old views and that is to simply have fun with it. X fingers I'll be recording and having FUN soon.

Haha I have no doubt.  Pretty much all I have recorded is all from that time period...we'll atleast all the recordings I'm comfortable putting out there.  I'm hoping participating in this site will light a fire under me.
