| A Solo Tomorrow (Remix) |
A Solo Tomorrow (Sunrise Remix) I like to call it. It is in A minor, which is not even suppose to be happy. Weird surprise, huh? That's why it's called a Sunrise remix. (Yeah, I made that up)
Okay, I had a Piano Keyboarding final, and it just so happened that I was working on a song on the Midi keyboards at school in this class, instead of practicing with the songs we were given. And well, here it is.
So what's the story behind this lovely song? Well. I would always play the Tetris A song and the last two notes, A and A flat, would always feel like another song, like something missing. I would always try to play with them. But I never could get anything out of them. Then one day, I came to that class pretty tired and bored. I just played the Tetris A song... like 5 times, then it just came to me. The song came to me. Yeah I know it sounds crazy.
The beginning of the song is sort of the original, but the last two notes are not. The tempo of the song is actually about 87, but I had the original at 90, so it's a little faster than I played it at school. The original one is here: http://kelpie.fragvault.com/fl/NoAlbumYet/PianoKeyboardingfinal.mp3
Enjoy, I hope you like it.

I think songs are a lot like movies.. You have to capture the audiences attention in the first few seconds or it just doesnt stick.. I found that problem with this track.. the intro sounded a bit more like a dirge or something. Too plunky and monosyllabic. Having said that, it does pick up a bit later.. Getting the soundtrack vibe from this one. The drums could use a serious revisit.. Sound like a heartbeat that wants to put me to sleep rather than draw me into the rhythm. Very moody soundtrack tunage here.
INTRO: It's very hard to create a melody that is not supported by any other instrument. The tone of the piano was nice, the melody lacks dynnamics , it would need some more work for it to capture an audience, or you could just simply shorten it to a few bars.
The rest of the song arrangement is OK
Very well produced.

Beginning is childlike , drum too indecisive, it eventually turns into something fairly reasonable with some pretty cool sounds.
The synth scape sound is always good and the bit of bass but the drum is still indecisive!
Does this have to remain clinically midi (for school??) or are you aloud to ...freak out and ...go wild sometimes. This piece could do with some of that !

Well guys, it's certainly not my best. But the original piece is suppose to be simple, elegant, and good to listen to.
It couldn't be long, and I actually went from a B to an A in that class because not only did the teacher like it, but everyone else in the class who listened liked it as well.
When I upgraded my PSU for the new home of one of my boyfriend's old 7800GT, the PSU is defective, and doesn't ground itself. Just a month back, I shocked my case for the last time, and fried the CMOS battery, screwed up my Ubuntu installation, as well as some things being broken on my Windows installation - Which is somehow my sound is a little screwy and isn't produced properly.
My other problem is that I am just as much bored with the drums as you are, but pissed because ReFX Nexus has an extra plugin pack that has drums, but my uh... upgrading to the new version didn't go so well, so it's messed up, and thus no good drums. And man do the drums in that plugin pack sound very, very awesome!
So anyways.
Getting a job in a computer place, in the RMA section starting this coming Thursday, I'm going to reward myself with a MIDI keyboard. Looking at the YPT-210, because it looks like it doesn't need drivers. I was going to get the M-Audio Session Keystudio, but they don't have XP 64bit drivers.
Then later on, when I can fork out a bit of extra money I plan on getting a better computer:

Sticking with my 7800GT, as well as my Audigy 2 ZS soundcard. I will upgrade soundcard when I can, but I need to save back money for college, because I am in the screwed middle class family where we really don't have the money to pay for college, but we're not poor either.

Well, ive never been one to use plug ins for my drums. There are a select few that i know of around here that are exceptional at it. (although, they produce more analog type music) For you and I, producing electronic music, realistic drums aren't essential.. and although I like having a humanized type sound to my drums, i enjoy programming them myself in a step sequencer. Anyway, there are a million sample sites out there with decent drum kit samples that you can build with. You might even consider looking for drum loops that are already written and ready to implant into your creation for instant juice. There are several options, but when it comes to a phat beat in your tune, there isn't. It is imperative (in electronic music) that you have a catchy driving beat. I bet if you go out and find yourself a couple of tight loops and bring them into this track, you'll see that it is reborn. In this type of music the rhythm sets the stage for everything else....
Exactly. Listening to Black Sun Empire, I noticed that they have a lot more going on for the drums, and thus can actually have simple music instruments/loops/etc. I don't want loops for drum sets, because I want to be in control where the loop should change and whatnot. You don't want a continuous loop, rather maybe every 8 beats, have an "ending" part, which signals transitions and helps transitions be smoother. The hardest part of this song was getting the transition from light, soft piano, to a sort of techno sense. It is not easy at all to do. The number one thing to make a song sound like crap is a bad transition.
