Mustang Sally - Cover
*
This is an example of one of the things I've been up to; as the title says, it's Wilson Pickett's "Mustang Sally" recorded by my band.  It's a first mix, done via some (reasonable) headphones, so sorry if it's a bit off
The lead vocals, guitar and bass were recorded live and in one take to a backing track that I created.  The drums were played too, but not recorded in the mix (cos they're just too tough to get right in my garage/rehearsal room); they  were added post recording using Cubase's LM-7.
Oh, and this was recorded on a laptop too...

Hey jim this came out pretty good!!!As I hear it everything sounds in the right place...Also find the levels pretty good..I think the only thing I would work on for my taste would be the dry vocals but thats just me...Other than that this is great!!!Good show...

Thanks Marino, yes the vocals are as they came out the mixer - there's a touch of reverb and a little compression but that's all.  What would you suggest on the vox?
This is one of our "minimalist songs" - no flashy guitar work.  I'm not keen to flood my account here with covers, so I'll limit it to a relative few.  So far I've managed to record (but not mix) 6 of our play list.
If anyone's interested, we're now the Coverbox Band!  (after a couple of changes, mostly due to there being other bands that had the same names we'd chosen!)

Sorry, you do not have access to post...
