Angel
*
Today the angel
That was watching over me
Packed her bags and headed home

Everybody tells me
Hey life goes on
But I really just don't know

But now I know oh I know
How it feels to be this all alone
And my angel oh my angel
Oh my angel my angels headed home

They all tell me that’s just part of life
It don’t help me much
It still cuts like a knife

And sister
She’s gonna miss her
First time that she calls her on the phone

I just didn't understand the style. Is it country?
This is very relaxing.

Very sweet one   I like the lyrics... I've noticed their not exactly the same as the posted ones. That's no problem, though... just a curiosity.
The playing is very good and I like that fusion style. Like DMmartins, I find it like country, but not quite and the result transmits the feeling, no doubt. Great style.
Is there a true story behind this song?  If so, I hope you can get over it and I will say you keep on putting all that feeling into music, for music always makes the best out of our sadness and at it positively ends up making you feel better. I personally hope for me that music stays with me always to help me with the things to come.
Issuing a very good rating

I was raised by two of the best people I ever met.  I lost my dad a few years ago.  My mom passed last week.  She was only in the hospital for three days but during that period I had no sleep.  When I returned home I went into my recording studio and wrote and recorded this song in a little over an hour.  So it was just the mood I was in at the time.
It makes a lot of people cry but I think it is beautiful.  It was written in love.

People ask us all the time what our style is.  My vocals and rhythm guitar are probably country, but the lead guitar pulls it in another direction.  In Arizona we call it "Desert Rock".

Very nice music flow..I'm really liking it..nice recording...your vocals go well with your music...your in your element...(listening as I type)...this song has a little bit of a Lynrd Skynrd influence I think...Do you like Lynrd Skynrd..or listen to them...? ...I would add just a touch of re verb to this...Very nice lyrics..good songwriting...I like a song that has a story line to it (even if the lyrics are simple and short...right to the point)..I feel that songs can.do carry a message....and that is a short story put into a song with nice lyrics and good music...you have done that...nice work

I went back and changed my lyrics to match the song.  Once I turn the mic on what ever flows out of me are the real lyrics.

This by the way is the first song that I have posted on here with totally dry vocals.  No vocal effects at all.  It’s debatable whether less is more.  The jury is still out.  I don’t even know myself.

Lynyrd Skynyrd has always been a big influence on our music.  Take away the rock guitars and they would be a country band.

Cool..I love Skynrd...In my opinion I think they were/are the best Southern Rock band that has been around, Justin...As a matter of fact Ronnie Van Zandt would do just as you stated about letting the lyrics fly. He would make up the lyrics as he went along during a song. If you listen to his lyrics , which I'm sure you have...since you said Skynrd is a influence, his lyrics are great..That's on hell of a talent to be able to just let it fly like that with lyrics ..especially when they have meaning and are so real..but then again..Ronnie was one of a kind
once again..nice job on this song buddy
