Devil Moon - Live
*
This was recorded live in a local bar. I am joined by my good friend Satch Wright on electric lead and bass. I apologise for the slight glitch about 00.15, I not sure whether we messed up or if it is in the recording.
This is about as different as you can get from my previous upload "Shame" which developed in the studio and evolved into the final version.
I await your comments with interest. . . . . . . . .

Devil Moon

The moon was bright - almost full
Strong enough - you could feel the pull
Of the old madness of the Devil Moon

I was there and I felt it
God knows I couldn't help it
The old madness of the Devil Moon

And I know I didn't mention
That my ultimate intention
Was not what you'd call honourable
In the strictest sense......
But I really didn't care
There was magic in the air
And I knew that I had to
Take the chance

We made love - it was good
But both of us - understood
It was that old madness of the Devil Moon

No regrets - no shame
If you want somewhere to lay the blame
It was the old madness of the Devil Moon

you're right!  quite different indeed!  Not "bad" though   It's a little outside my style range, but I can tell that you're pretty comfortable with singing.  I enjoy your vocal performance, both in this song and your other one, "Shame."

Nice and "chill"   I'll be honest, by the time the song was done, I realized that I hadn't the foggiest idea what the lyrics had been during the whole thing.  That's not a bad characteristic, though-- it simply created a comfortable listening atmosphere that wasn't hard for me to feel, and I was carried off in it :P

I'll have to sit on it and try to think of what sort of criticisms (for better or for worse) to make, as this computer lab on campus kicks me off in just a few moments, and I still need to shoot off a few notes in some email!  I like the things you've uploaded so far!  Glad to have you around!

I am a major blues fan and this is a very good representation of the blues as far as I'm concerned. Your vocals are incredibly good....I hear some Ray Charles and other influences in your vocal style here. Your delivery of the lyrics convey your conviction about the content of the lyric (translation: You got righteous soul going on here!). Furthermore, your guitarist plays a really tasty, musical, and inventive lead there (better that the average blues lead you hear! His style here reminds me a bit of Amos Garrett - who played the lead on Maria Muldaur's "Midnight on the Oasis" Furthermore, he demonstrates fantastic skill in complementing you. This indicates some real solid skill and experience on his part. Hang on to him!!!)) You guys definitely have something special here! (Furthermore, I am excited to have a guy who not only appreciates, but can deliver blues-oriented music here on the site).

The guitars melt togather man. Very, very well done. I would have liked to hear a little sustained in the lead. The rhythm guitar sweells and mutes were pro. Nice shuffle, yahda. The leads neckwork is chiropractic, its pretty fuckin' fasty. I cannot lie, the turn around is a liasic in compairson to the rest but otehrwise sweet as sex man. Peace.

Choice, later broz.
