hey all. i havnt been on here for donkeys... but this is what ive been up to over the christmas holidays. I was going for the melding of western grand piano, with eastern instruments. Its probs been done many times before.

I picture some chinese mountains covered in snow...house of flying daggers styley, but thats a bit hard to make into a song title... any thoughts or feedback is good.

Happy new Year

Ian

Love the mood setting feel on this.Very peace full and mellow. The drums don't work for me.I would leave them out and replace them with some counter pointing cello lines or general strings!Good piece man!

DUDE! This is an amazing piece!  It imediately put me in mind of Hans Zimmer..  I dont have much in the way of criticism but maybe a bit of a brighter mix would add more life and breath into it.  Other than that, I love it!!!

ok, i dig that. so the piano setting could be brighter sounding, and the drums could be altered, i like the bass drum sound myself but i guess the snare doesnt fit that well... I like the idea of some rhythmic plucked cello lines.

cheers

great combination of instruments... i agree, the drums don't really fit with the mood of the song...

but overall, it sounds good, so good work

I think the production and sense of space in this track is top notch, and the composition is peaceful and emotive. I think this is the best track I've heard from you.

As for the piano, I actually like it sounding quite dull, as it is gives it a more impressionist vibe. It also allows some of the other instruments to cut through.

For me, the main thing which needs brightening are the drums... personally I think this is one of those tracks where a relaxed electronic beat would suit better than a 'real' drum sound. Maybe give it a try I think you may be pleasantly surprised with that route.

Again, great stuff mate.

Nice mellow feel. I like it!!

I like the flute, perhaps have this as the main melody instrument all the way through.

I would have to agree with the sound of the drums, you could perhaps find something more 'Eastern sounding'.

Personally I like the piano as it is.

Great to see you back.

I really like the mood... The music make pictures rolling in my head and it's always a good thing. It could be from a movie or something ha ha.....

It could even be more dramatic when the pace "changes" in the middle of the songs, but yeah, it works....
