Only Losers
*
Hey there,

This is a piano song about war. It's a very emotional song, I hope you guys like it..!

Steven

The silence finally takes over
The bodies are scattered on the fields
Things go back to how they first were
But the birds won't sing here anymore

Survivors standing there and crying
Watching the dead full of disbelief
Women searching for their husbands
Do they look like the victorious ones?

No they don't
War has no winners
Only losers

War has no winners
Only losers

From their seats they give the orders
The members of the government
They have no idea how war is
Cause the soldiers do the dirty work

Yeah of course they're getting paid
But will that relief their grief
It seems that they're going willingly
I guess it's just human ignorance

War has no winners
Only losers

War has no winners
Only losers

War has no winners

Hey Razor, this is a beautiful song.  And you're right, it is very emotional ... and ... err ... somewhat depressing (but that's okay)

I really like your lyrics.  You sing well.  You play well.  And this sounds like a pretty good quality recording to me. I vote.

Emotion
Wow this is pretty awesome.Got my attention for sure.Only thing I would suggest(personal thing)is after the first chorus I would put the piano to the background and come in with some drums, synths and electric guitar.Almost like a rock ballad, then after the verses bring the piano back up and lose the guitar but keep the drums. This is what I'm hearing in my head as I listen anyway.Great job.

ah very nice.

the song itself is really good. nice piano work.. good vocals..

however, there are a few technical issues... for example, the pops in the vox.. and there's quite a bit of white fuzz.. not as audible once the song gets going, but pretty loud in the beginning.

I like the music though... sounds like this one took some work

very nice.

hehe It took some yes .

That's right, my mic is really bad.

I'm buying a new one when I got the money.

Thanks for all the positive replies!

to BasketCase - First I was thinking of making it a heavier song.. but I chose for a real soft song with a lot of emotion in it

Nice structure;
Decent piano work
Lovely vocals
Good lyrics (although a bit depressing but that's fine, as they're suited to the music)

Would be a very good recording, as you get the mix about spot on in my books, but the vocal popping spoils it a little for me.

But this is a really nice song, I like it.

... what is it good for?
yeah, the concept of the uselessness of war should be stressed every once n a while.

I think you did a great job with the composition...

I would have tried a different sound for the strings, something... less bright, less saw wave (something warmer and rounder ).

You can use a plop killer... will take care of the plopping, you don't need a new mic right away. You can ask Iszil how to make one yourself

Good song but..
Its a good song and well written I will give you that.  However, I listen to the lyrics and expect a totally different song.  The lyrics are harsh for a song this soft in my opinion.

re: Only Losers
STRONG song.

Great message here ................

The recording aspects have been covered by others earlier'
Your vocals are nicely in tune throughout.

just one thing though...... the extra noise on the trak might not be the Mike............... but knocking the stand or cable to and from the desk.
I say this because the problem is intermittent and sounds like a 'bump' 2 me

Who knows? just a thought.

Thanx for really good song.

Very nice
Very nice song! Like the piano, just one thing though, your plosives are coming out in the mic too much in the recording. I recommend getting a pop screen that goes infront of the mic and sing through that! Then the plosives, or the b's p's sss etc, won't pop so much. Very well done though, great message!!! =)
