She Gave Me The Blue
*
The story behind this song is strange... my 16-year old sister wrote a song about her best friend eating loads of food and getting fat; so her friend wrote a song about my sister being an alcoholic prostitute.
Anyway, it's all in good fun, my sister showed me the lyrics that her friend wrote, so we recorded me improvising this piano part and melody.  It was very weird singing this sort of thing about my little sister.  The lyrics are:

Gin for breakfast, whiskey for lunch
She gave me the blues, but what did she have for brunch?
Vodka & Red Bull, it could've been
After a few inside her, she'll seem pretty keen...

To take you to her room, where she ain't so shy
Oh my friend, this ain't no lie!
It's real sad, to see her descent
But she won't let you go without her payment

She gave me the blues
(oh yes she did)
Gave me the blues
(thought she was my friend)

Her problems have got worse, this is true
I'll tell you my friend, she ain't got the flu!
Chlamydia, gonorrhoea, herpes - the lot
Just look at her now, she ain't too hot

But this is a comeback, simple and sweet
For what she said about me, ain't so neat
So Ju, this song's for you, I hope you like
It's back to you now, you've got the mic

Indeed she wrote a song, 'bout me being fat
But what you don't know, is she's a bit of a slag (that didn't rhyme)
That Juliette, ain't no princess
Just sleep with her once and she'll confess!

A blues piano joke song, with a few dodgy timings to get all the lyrics in.   It could go far!

You sound like you're having a real laugh playing and recording it!

haha very funny i liked the "that didnt ryhme" near the end.
the timing wasnt of the best kind, but it did work very well with the song.
if this is really all improvising, wow you're really good.

very nice song all in all. only bad critique would be the vocals need a little work on the lower bits.

skilled play
as stated above, this requires maximu skill piano play. Very modern jazzy blues. The accompanying voice fits perfect. I also like the lyrics, thats another big plus. Great work with a difference.

DUDE!

  I must say......

       Da Blues is notyourthang baby...

But that's cool though...  Your skills on the bones are without a doubt..

But.....   Your vocals are lacking, and the emotion in the blues, dude... Your too happy...

Anyway...  Cool song, great comedic value, and I think your vocal stylings could be suited better on a nice pop or country type sound,

Y'all come back now, ya' here?
JimK I have rated this song
