This song means a lot to me, it's the touchstone for so many times in my life, but I never recorded a decent version of it.  This is an attempt to rectify this.  It's just a simple 4 chord trick, all about trying to find whatever it is that everyone of us is driven to try and find in their lives.  I need to get a proper mic and record proper vocals for this, other than that I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out.  I swear by GarageBand now, especialy after losing my Logic key....*weeps*.

Have at, good people

*edit*  This is the fifth attempt to post this song, the player keeps playing it back either at doublespeed or halftime.  It's in G, it's 120 bpm and plays fine here on my machine in all players and editors.  Seriously frustrating.  Any ideas??  Anything similar happen to anybody else?  How does one prevent it from reoccurring..

a singin wooky. great. greetz from starwars. the one minute outro is boring. a cool song to relax. i am playing this song for the third time. drums are cool. but some sounds i think dont match with the others. as long as i can have my dreams during playing the song its a good song.

Yeah the outro is pure fluff, überflüssig

It was a throwaway idea from many that I decided to tack on to flesh out the back end of the song.  But I'm really glad that somebody likes the song, cheers m8.

Nice song, there's some nice things in it. I don't really like the production quality though, or the way it was mixed (heavily distorts around 4:00-4:30), but the song itself has a nice construction, is really easy. Could use  vocals, but not necessarily, the acoustic guitar soloing makes up for that very well.

Cheers dude, when I finally get a decent mike and an mbox then I can do proper vocals for everything.  Mixing is definitely not my forte, I just run the audio from the laptop through an old stereo, very bass heavy, little high frequency response and hope for the best.  I'd rather it was too bass heavy than tinny though.  But we live and learn ey?

great. rerecording and giving it the proper mix it deserves would be really good. it could be really in-your-face exciting while being in a way kinda peaceful (does that make sense?). -I really wish I could have made some sense of what I thought were vocals. I also agree PuppetXeno though in that it might not need vocals, especially if the mix/overall sound can be improved.

It's gonna get proper vocals eventually, it's always had them, I just left the guide vocals from the initial acoustic scratchtrack in as a way to orientate myself while I was recording the other parts, so you don't need to pay attention to them, they're just mumblings

I might share out an archive of the GarageBand file, it'd be interesting to see what other people could do with it mixwise, I just don't have the equipment to do it properly at the moment.
Cheers for your feedback though, much appreciated

An original song - I like it a lot. I sometimes thought that the percussion could vary a little more though. Its a shame it sounds a bit distorted too - if you rerecord it, post it again! I'm more than used to listening to songs without vocals anyway as all of mine are like that. However, I think that if you put vocals on this, they should be strong because theres so much going on in the music, a weak vocal part would seem to pale somehow (don't know if I expressed that very well...).

As soon as I get a decent mike, this song's getting the full vocal treatment, it's been knocking around my head for too long not to - cheers for the feedback m8
